NAOS UI Holds Annual Career Talk And Sex Education Program

The National Association of Oyo Students, University of Ibadan Chapter held Career Talk and Sex Education at the Callister Hall of Saint Bernardines Grammar School, Oyo.

The programme was divided into two parts, Sex Education, which was intended to educate the students on the dangers of premarital sex, teenage pregnancy, abortion and other sexual practices that are common among teenagers.

The guest speaker, Dr. Mrs Banke did justice to this topic, while fusing both theoretical knowledge and personal experience in educating the participants.

The second half of the programme focused on career talk, where the veteran administrator and writer, Alhaji Rahman Onike emphasized on enlightening and exposing these students on the basics of choosing a career in their field of study and the prospects ahead.

Earlier before the commencement of the programme, delegates from each school participated in a mini- competition of English language and Yoruba, which was marked across the session of the event. The winners of this competition were Saint Bernadines Girls Secondary School Oyo, Mercyland College, Kolobo, and Oyo, Oranyan Grammar School 1. They were awarded with plaques.  The best students both in English and Yoruba were also presented with gifts.

The event came to an end after a series of questions and answers and goodwill messages from teachers and members of the high table, such as Former NAOS Presidents, Mr. Ogunlana, Mr. Ogunteru S.O, Rt. Hon. Adeyanju Ridwan, Aare Ganiyu Abass among others
