April 12 was a day of celebrations and awards as the faculty of Technology had an induction ceremony for her graduates.
During the event which saw in attendance many Academics, parents, graduands and students; a young promising lady, Marian Obuseh was announced as the best graduating student in her department, (Industrial and production engineering) as well as in the Faculty of Technology for the 2016/2017 session.
The Ibadan-born Delta lady finished from the department with an enviable result of 6.9 CGPA.
At the induction ceremony into the Nigerian Society of Engineers(NSE) on Thursday, where many first class graduates were recognised and awarded; Marian was called to the dais for the best Faculty of Technology graduating student’s speech, where she attributed her academic success to the grace of God.
The admirable beauty while speaking with UCJUI correspondent said, staying focused on her goal was what helped her all through the five years.
She added that she had had the CGPA from 100L and did her best to maintain it till the end of her B. Sc studies last session .
Marian however stated that she was not all “bookish” as people may think, but that she did what was needed at the right time.
She said, “I was not
surprised when the sub Dean called me about my result because I’ve always been consistent with the CGPA from 100L, even though it was all about hard work … I mean I studied hard for my courses and just knew my onus”.
Marian Obuseh is likely to bag the best graduating student of the year award in this year’s convocation and 70th anniversary of the university.
