IMF MEMBER COUNTRIES CALL FOR BOLD ACTION
The International Monetary Fund’s member countries on Saturday, 11 October, 2014 said bold action was needed to reinforce the global economy,
According to Reuters.com, (Reuters), the Japan’s economy floundering, the euro zone at risk and China’s expansion slow and the IMF’s steering committee said focusing on growth was the priority.
However, at the fund’s fall meeting held in Washington, the IMF has flagged Europe as the major concern to focus on at the moment.
UN SECRETARY-GENERAL IN LIBYA
UN secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, arrived in Libya’s capital, Tripoli on Saturday to talk with warring factions over the control of the north-Africa’s oil producing country.
For the past two months, Libya has been struggling between two government and two parliaments after the armed forces from mirasta seized the capital and send the internationally recognised government elected in June to the eastern city of Tobruk near the border with Egypt.
According to voanews.com, (voice of America),the secretary-general “will urge [the] Libyan parties to push forward with political dialog to restore stability to [the] country,” the United Nations said in a tweet.
According to aljazeera.com, the UN chief, Ban said “the country cannot afford to be politically divided; it needs one parliament that represents all Libyans.”
