UI Releases 2025/2026 Registration Timeline, SU Confirms April 30 Deadline for Fees and Course Registration

The University of Ibadan has released the timeline for course registration for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The information was contained in a notice published on the university’s student portal.

According to the notice, online course registration commenced on March 5, 2026, and will run until April 16, 2026, giving students a six-week window to complete the process.

The university also scheduled two weeks from April 16 to April 30, 2026, for students to correct errors in their course registration. During this period, lecturers are expected to review and approve registered courses.

The registration portal is expected to close on May 1, 2026. A late registration window will then open from May 4 to May 18, 2026.

The notice stated that late registration will attract penalty fees. Students who have not completed their school fees payment or have made no payment as of April 30, 2026, will pay a penalty of ₦20,000. Students who have paid their school fees but failed to register their courses will pay ₦10,000.

The university further stated that the portal will finally close on May 18, 2026, adding that any approved reopening after this date will attract an additional penalty of ₦10,000 per month.

Meanwhile, the Students’ Union has acknowledged concerns raised by students over the alignment of school fees payment and course registration deadlines, particularly as it affects students awaiting NELFUND disbursement and others yet to complete their payments.

In a statement issued by the Students’ Union President, T. S. Adeboye, following engagements with relevant authorities, students were informed that the deadline for both school fees payment and course registration remains April 30.

All students were strongly advised to take note of the date and ensure compliance, as it stands as the operative deadline for the session’s registration processes.

The Students’ Union also assured students registered under the NELFUND scheme that they should remain calm, noting that arrangements are in place to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive disbursements within the required timeframe.
