Breaking: Kidnapped UI Law Student Regains Freedom

In the early hours of Monday, 6th of July 2026, a new broadcast message emerged on some University of Ibadan community WhatsApp groups claiming that the missing Scripture Union Campus Fellowship officials, including the kidnapped law student, had again regained their freedom.

In order to verify the claim again this time, the UCJ reached out to the Scripture Union authorities to ask about the current situation of things.

In a WhatsApp conversation with Dr. F. I. D Afolayan, one of the SUCFUI staff advisers, she confirmed to us that the now circulating claim was true.

According to her, the release occurred over the night and as of this morning communication had already been made with Tomisin.

This comes as a relief to the students’ community as a whole who had been praying and hoping that her safe release would be secured.

This is a developing story, more details subsequently.
