The University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU) through its UI’SU Transport Committee has released a public apology and resolutions regarding transportation on campus, Tuesday, 24th March 2026.
Following the rise in petrol prices, transportation on campus has taken on a new dimension, posing challenges to students. One of such challenges addressed by the UI’SU Transport Committee in its release was on issues regarding Keke and cab operators on campus refusing to ply certain locations (including SUB and various Halls of Residence) due to the ₦100 fare. According to the release, normal operations have resumed across all campus routes.
Furthermore, the issues regarding transfer charges that are being requested by keke and cab drivers on campus from students who want to pay with bank transfers have been resolved, according to the release. “Students are now permitted to make transfers for the standard fare without being required to add extra transaction charges”, the release stated.
Additionally, the release implored students to report any case of challenges or non-compliance from drivers to the UI’SU Transport Committee, by noting the vehicle’s sticker number for prompt action. The following contact was included as part of the release: Bobby: 09035473528 (Chairman, UI’SU Transport Committee)
