NEWS: UI GMO leads campaign against sexual harrassment, gender-based violence

The Gender Mainstreaming Office of the University of Ibadan on Thursday, June 27, led a campaign against sexual harassment and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on the University campus.

This walk, which was in partnership with the Family Health Population Action Committee (FAHPAC) and the Students Union, started at the Union’s Building premises and was a response to the growing number of cases related to sexual assault identified.

Students who displayed placards with the inscription, “Stop Sexual Harassment on UI Campus,” “If you see something say something,” “Facing any form of sexual harassment, speak out! educated members of the university community including students and staff on the importance of participating in the fight against rape.

This campaign is coming at the heels of the allegation of sexual assault that was recorded on campus last session and to prevent future occurrences.
