BB-LED ADMINISTRATION HONOURS ADEKUNLE ADEPEJU WITH A STATUE
The Babatunde Badmus Uniting uites team has honoured the first Nigerian student Matyr, Adekunle Adepeju with a statue.
The statue was placed in front of the Students’ Union Building also known as Adekunle Adepeju Building. This was the last project done by the administration and it officially opened after the swearing-in of the new administration last week.
STUDENTS CONSUME 60 PERCENT OF THE ELECTRICITY- UI VICE CHANCELLOR
Professor I.F Adewole said that the students of the university consume 60% of the electricity provided for the school.
He said this in reply to the inaugural speech of the newly-sworn in president of the students’ union, Mr Odesola Oluwafemi Victor who advocated for more stable electricity on campus
The vice-chancellor also promised the students of the faculty of Agriculture going through the practical training year programme that very soon, irrigation will be provided for them on the farm. He said they will no longer carry bucket all around to supply water to their farms.
NEW AASA EXECUTIVE GETS SWORN-IN AS THEY ORGANISE FRESHERS WELCOME
Archaeology and Anthropology students association newly elected executives were sworn in at the freshers’ welcome ceremony.
The ceremony which took place on Wednesday at the department was fully attended by the fresh men and the principal officers of the department. At the programme, the freshmen were admonished to stay focus with their study.

The new executives of the students union throw party after the swearing in ceremony.
The party which was held immediately after the swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday at the Students’ union Building continued in Kuti hall in the evening of the same day.
This was a form of appreciation to their supporters.
TIME IS MONEY- Rev. Etteh
At the Muhammed Bankole, Rev. Etteh told the Association of Civil engineering students that time is money.
He said this, while delivering his opening speech, he lamented on how the programme which meant to commence by 10am was starting by 12noon.
He however said if a free corrupt practice in the engineering profession is to be implemented. It has to start with them from their classroom and he also boasted of not being involved in any form of corruption since he has been inducted as an engineer.
YEMMY GOLD FINGER EMERGEED WINNER AT UIGMC SEASON 2
Yemmy Goldfinger, a 400 level Students of linguistics department took the golden prize of the University of Ibadan Gospel Music Challenge season 2.
Yemmy came first out of the five contestants who scale through from the preliminaries where fifty students were enrolled for the challenge. The grand finale was held at Arts theatre on Thursday night.
INDY PRESS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH A WORKSHOP
Indy press organisation celebrated 30 years of existence by organising a workshop aimed at progressive journalism.
Indy press, one of the oldest press organisation organise a workshop with the theme; Maximizing potentials of the social media and ICT towards self and societal development on Saturday, 9 August at the Indy hall cafeteria.
The programme equipped the participants present on how to use the social media in improving the economy and society.
THEATRE ARTS SETS TO INITIATES FRESH MEN
The Theatre Arts Department is set to initiate their fresh men as they had their initiation rally on Sunday
The annual programme which certifies fresh students as bona fide students of the department has started on Sunday and will span through the week. The chief priest of this year is Professor Ahmed Yerima.
