QUEENS HALL ROBBERY: PORTERS THOUGHT IT WAS AN EXERCISE

Following the robbery of six girls in Queen Elizabeth II Hall, porters were reported to have said that the reason they did not come to the students rescue was because they thought it was an exercise.

According to reports, residents of the hall started blowing whistles when they noticed the presence of an intruder in their hall at about 5am on Saturday morning. The hope was that the porters would speedily come to their rescue. Yet they got no response from the porters.

It was later gathered that the robber distracted the porters by drawing their attention to “D Block” before going to “I block” to execute his plans. So when the students in the latter block started whistling for help, porters thought it was a call for exercise.

ACLAS press also gathered that the robber threatened the girls stole several gadgets.
