The student union election season is here,
With promises of change and solutions so clear.
But in truth, it’s all just a game,
A popularity contest, for a position of fame.
The candidates strut their stuff,
As they make promises that sound so tough.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they say with a grin,
But do they really have the ability to win?
Their posters and flyers are all over the place,
Making claims that they’ll change the whole student race.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they shout from the rooftops,
But do they have what it takes to make it to the top?
The debates are heated, the drama is high,
As each candidate tries to prove they’re the guy.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they claim with such pride,
But do they have the knowledge and skills to provide?
Endorsements are made by clubs you’ve never heard of,
As they push their candidates with a lot of love.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they say with delight,
But can they really make things all right?
Finally, the election day is here,
And the candidates are shaking with fear.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they whisper with hope,
But will the votes be enough to help them cope?
In the end, only one can be the winner,
And the rest will just have to be a beginner.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they’ll say with a sigh,
As they watch the winner’s star rise high.
So, let’s take these elections with a grain of salt,
And not get too caught up in all of the tumult.
“Lagbaja is coming,” they’ll always proclaim,
But will they really bring the change we want to claim?
