The Lord Tedder Hall freshers football team has won the Inter-hall football competition organized as part of the UI’SU Freshers Week 2023.
The Lords, as the Tedder team is called, emerged victorious over the Baluba Lions of Nnamdi Azikiwe hall in the final of the competition on Wednesday.
At the end of regular time, the march ended with a one-all draw but the Tedder team won the penalty shootout by 5-4.
Reacting to the victory, Tedder Hall’s Social Minister, Alamu Toheeb expressed delight over the outcome of the competition.
“Feeling like a champion. We beat them twice.
Baluba sent down fire but The Lords sent down rain, they’re best looser and they’ve always been going away with it, but this time we made them the looser they are,” the Social Minister told UCJUI.
Recall that during the Freshers oratory contest held earlier in the week, Tedder Hall’s representative, David Abiodun emerged overall winner, defeating representatives of eight other Halls.
The oratory contest was also organized as part of activities to celebrate this year’s freshers week.
