
As part of activities to celebrate this year’s World Clean Up day, Recycle Edge is set to organize a mega clean up of the University community
The clean up, set to hold on Saturday September 16th, is being organized in partnership with the University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Junior Chamber International Nigeria, University of Ibadan, and Plogging Nigeria Club.
A statement by the organization indicates that the convergence point for the event is the institution’s Main Gate by 7 am.
“Recycledge is a social enterprise concerned with promotion of environmental sustainability through activities which include advocacy and majorly empowerment in Ibadan, and over the past few months, she has established a working relationship with the University through the donation of two bins for plastic collection in 2022 to the Students’ Union and Eco-friendly hub and in April 2023 we flagged off the Green Campus Project and initiative which is funded by Coca-cola with twenty (20) receptacles, tricycles and other items were donated across faculties and Halls of residence in the University for PET bottle collection,” the statement added.
The World Cleanup Day is a global event that unites millions of enthusiastic volunteers, progressive governments, and committed organizations across 191 countries of the world to address the urgent global waste issue, leading the charge towards a cleaner, more sustainable world.
