KUNLE ADEPEJU; THE COMMEMORATION OF A MARTYR

By: Bello Abdulrahmon aka Farmer

The plagued acrimony,
Brought neither fragrance of nor honey,
Even the heavens and earth the earth were frowning
On that Monday morning,
February 1, 1971; the day of a dreadful destiny

That peevish catering manageress,
In Baluba kingdom; home to the Aluta high-in-nerves (highness)
But fate shall stir the angle of that protest,
Lo and Behold, a man’s invention, ammunitions, created sadness
Away hath bannished Kunle to the afterlife fortress.

Never ever and ever-never shall we forget you
Our dear unionist, who else will be like you?
Your life was evacuated by the power of you-know-who;
Our friends in black, whom to me were fool
May you rest in Peace, and may your Soul be cool

kunle Adepeju, your perseverence will never die.
Can we uphold the truthfulness you’ve already led,
Gani Fawehmi had tried without rest,
Femi Felana, Wole Soyinka, and others, they’ve all done their best,
Here is you and I, to defend the truth till end,

Live ammunition on campuses must stop,
Corruption here and about must be curbed,
Students voices must top,
Kunle Adepeju had dropped,
A virtue exemplar to we and all.

May his soul rest in peace.
