Fire Alarm in Kenneth Dike Library
The university’s fire service stormed Kenneth Dike Library on Tuesday, 14 of April, when it supposedly got a call of a fire outbreak.
According to an eye witness, the fire was caused by a spark of electricity when two wires clutched and resulted into utter pandemonium.
The Library management quickly swung into action and evacuated all library users until the fire service could affirm the extent of the surge as this kept people waiting outside for a long while.
ADIEU BABA: EDUCATION LOSES PROFESSOR OGUNSANYA
On Thursday, 16 April, Professor Ogunsanya Bashiru, a lecturer at the Department of Educational Management passed on.
The properitor of Ogunsanya girls science Academy was buried on that same day according to Muslim rites.
During the burial ceremony, many UI officials present describe the late professor as a man whom many youth should have as role model.
QUEEN IDIA FRESHMEN SPOIL PUMPING MACHINE
The new students of Queen Idia hall have been alleged to have spoilt the pumping machine of the hall.
The students of the hall who had earlier claim that the water in the hall was not good and that is why they fetch from the neighboring halls of residence are still fetching water from these areas after the tank-washing done by the Nnamdi Azikiwe brothers.
According to UCJ correspondent, the situation has been reported to hall warden and the students hope for a fast intervention.

Similarly, Faculty of The Social Sciences also welcomes their fresh students into the faculty on Friday dishing out rules and regulations that will guide them in the sourjon on campus.
OUR LADY SEAT OF WISDOM HOSTS PRO-LIFE CONFERENCE
Our lady seat of wisdom, U.I’s Catholic Church, in conjunction with members of the pro-life team at national level, rounded off its three day pro-life conference with an awareness rally.
The programme, which was held on Wednesday, April 15, was organized to create awareness against abortion and the use of contraceptives with the main aim of preserving lives. The representatives of Pro Life took a sensitization tour around U.I to further inform people on the invaluable nature of life.
The programme was well attended by monsignors, priests, reverends, sisters and other religious as well as lay members.
UI WATER: ERRATIC SUPPLY LOOMS THE CAMPUS
After the reduction in price of UI water, the university community has been experiencing an erratic supply of the product.
Many cafeterias no longer wait for them as they bring in water from other industry to satisfy their customers while those who wait for them sell at the rate of N10 per sachet
It was gathered from some retailers that producing sachet water is not profitable and that made UI water swap the production of sachet water for bottle water.
All efforts made to meet with UI water officials proved abortive
