At the early hours of today, a picture of a blue sedan car that skidded over as a result of road accident surfaced on the internet. In an interview with UI Chief Security Officer, Mr. Victor Fadeyibi, he explained that the accident occurred along the Wanday Martins-Imo axis after Awba Dam as opposed to the rumour that was circulated online.
“It happened at the junction between Wanday Martins where the road turns to Imo, after Awba Dam. Somebody was teaching another person how to drive and probably instead of marching the break, she matched throttle and the vehicle skidded. They have all come out alive. So, no there is no cause for alarm.” He explained
Reacting to the question on whether the victims were students of UI, he stated that the victims are not students of UI, they are outsiders but something is being done about it.
One of the nurses at Jaja clinic, who spoke to UCJUI correspondent on the grounds of anonymity said that some victims of accident were taken to Jaja this morning but they were turned down at the clinic when it was confirmed that they were outsiders without any form of affiliation to UI.
