THE MAJORITY WILL HAVE THEIR WAY – AHH SPEAKER

 “WE’LL ORGANISE A COUNTER PROTEST IF…”

The President of the Students’ Union, University of Ibadan, Olateju Aliyu Oladimeji AKA Ahh Speaker has pledged that the next course of action by the Union would be decided by the majority of the students.

He made this statement while responding to the question of whether UItes are going back to the street to protest if Mote is not reinstated.

In his words, “we know that students have stayed at home for six weeks and the majority are eager to come back to school. But we’ve sampled opinions and we keep sampling opinions because as the President, I must ensure the  majority have their way while the interest of the minority is duly protected”.

When probed further, Ahh Speaker insisted by saying “why not let the people decide?”

It must be noted that many a student of the University are not favourable to any further protest after six weeks of forced break in the 2015/2016 academic calendar.

As a matter of fact, it was said that a group of finalists from one particular faculty had concluded to organise a counter protest should the Union insist on Mote’s reinstatement.
