SUEC Lifts Campaign Ban as UI Students’ Union Election Season Begins

The Students’ Union Electoral Commission (SUEC’26) of the University of Ibadan has officially lifted the ban on electioneering for the 2025/2026 academic session, formally opening the campaign season for the next Students’ Union elections.

In an important notice released on Friday, the Commission said the ban took effect at 8:30 p.m. on 18 September 2026.

Electoral and campaign activities may now resume immediately, but only in accordance with the Commission’s guidelines.

The Commission also said it would communicate updates on nomination forms soon and gave no date for their release.
