The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 24 academic programmes in the University of Ibadan. This was revealed in a bulletin released by the registrar of the university. According to the bulletin, the programmes have been run for two academic years and have gained full accreditation by the NUC.
The accredited programs which spread across Faculties of Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Design and Management, Science, and Veterinary Medicine include German, Igbo, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy, Theatre Arts, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiology, Physiotherapy, Environmental Health Science, Early Childhood Education, Education Arabic, Education Economics, Education Islamic Studies, Health Education, Human Kinetics, Civil Engineering, Food Technology, Industrial and Production Engineering, Wood Products Engineering, Architecture, Geology, Computer Science, and Veterinary Medicine respectively.
The Vice Chancellor acknowledged the collaborative efforts of members of the University workforce who made the accreditation exercise successful and admonished them not to relent.
