Temitope Omosebi, a student and founder of the initiative “Attack Against Asthma,” donated 114 inhalers to the University Health Services on Monday, September 23.
This initiative, themed “Attack Against Asthma 2.1: Participating in Sustainable Development Goal 3” aims to assist asthmatic students who cannot afford inhalers in managing their condition.
“This is the third time we are coming to the University of Ibadan. We have been here twice before. One hundred and fourteen inhalers have been donated for the use of the university community today”, Omosebi stated.
The inhalers were received by Dr Tinubu, an official at the Asthma Centre, Jaja Clinic. She appreciated Temitope Omosebi and his team for coming back to the university, adding that the previous donations have helped a lot of students in their fight against asthma.
Omosebi added that this round of donations will reach five universities, including the University of Ibadan, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), and the University of Lagos (Unilag). In total, 570 inhalers will be distributed equally among these institutions.
