NELFUND Beneficiaries Report Payment Discrepancies as Students’ Union Initiates Review

By Faith Ajewole

The Students’ Union has raised concerns over multiple payment discrepancies affecting beneficiaries of the NELFUND Loan Scheme, following a wave of complaints from students attempting to complete their school fee payments through funded wallets.

According to information released by the Union, several affected students reported cases of double deductions, particularly in Technology Fees and Utility Fees. Others indicated that despite these deductions, their wallet balances remained insufficient, thereby preventing them from completing their bundle fee payments. Additional complaints highlighted broader inconsistencies associated with the NELFUND-funded payment system.

As part of ongoing efforts to resolve the discrepancies, affected students have been directed to submit verified records of their payment challenges for proper review and necessary corrections, with emphasis that the compilation is necessary for facilitating timely intervention. Students experiencing any of the outlined issues are therefore encouraged to provide accurate details through the designated Google form link.

Stakeholders, among the beneficiaries who rely on the NELFUND Scheme to meet their financial obligations within the university, are now anticipating swift action from both institutional authorities and scheme administrators to rectify the anomalies and restore confidence in the payment process.
