Hult-Prize Organizers, SEIH-UI, To Launch The AgroPreneur Fair

The Student Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub (SEIH), University of Ibadan is set to hold The AgroPreneur Fair on Saturday, 21st August, 2021. The event will be held at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Hall, UI Hotels at 10am. 

In an interview with the president of the Hub, Faithwin Gbadamosi, she disclosed that “the Agropreneur Fair was birthed from the need to reconcile the farming aspect and business aspect of Agriculture. Food sustainability is a pressing issue in our society and as an organization, SEIH-UI believes in the principles of social entrepreneurship which is proferring solutions to societal problems and creating wealth for the entrepreneur”.

The President added that “the event is the first program SEIH will be organizing since 2018 asides the Hult Prize program. Therefore, it would also serve as a re-launch of the organization. So, we have a lot in store for attendees and we can’t wait to host them”. On whether the event is a build-up to the Hult Prize, she stated that “the event is quite independent of the Hult Prize Competition. However, it is our hope that it helps build up the skills and experience of our student-entrepreneurs to thrive in the Hult Prize competition as well as other similar programs”.

She further stated that the event is open to both students and non-students of the university, however, only students (undergraduates and post-graduates) will be allowed to pitch their business ideas at the Fair. 

She concluded that there would be special training, mentorship and possible funding opportunities for participants with impressive pitches and that the exact prizes for the event would be made public very soon.
