FULL LIST: After Review, UCJUI Announces Winners, Runner-ups of Annual Award

Following a review, the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan has released the comprehensive list of winners of the various categories of its individual and local press organization award for the 2022/23 academic session.

Explaining the development on Sunday night, the union’s President, Oluwatobi Odeyinka, noted that the review became necessary due to some errors that occurred during the collation process.

“Indeed there were mistakes in the collation of results and the long list of winners. Only four categories were affected. They are: Best Satire Writer, Best Entertainment Writer, Best Politics Writer, and Best Departmental Press Organisation.

“I have reached out to those wrongfully awarded and they confirmed the errors. As responsible journalists, they agree that the awards be returned to the rightful winners,” Odeyinka, who was inaugurated into office earlier this month, explained.

He added that the original winners of the affected categories will receive their plaque at the union’s Finalist Hangout next month.
