Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu SAN has described the 1999 Nigerian constitution as a document that lies against itself at a lecture organised by the Afenifere Renewal Group, the breakaway sect of the Afenifere Group (AG).
The senior Advocate who was an aspirant at the 2013 Ondo Gubernatorial Election under the APC’s umbrella dug into the Nigerian Constitutional history while delivering a lecture themed “Towards a Renascent Yoruba Nation”. He urged Yoruba people to unite themselves in order to restore the glory their fore fathers earned with hard labour.
The lecture held at Trenchard hall, University of Ibadan on Monday 9th February, 2015 was in honour of Dr John Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State former governor, who turned 50 on that day.
Erelu Fayemi who represented her husband advised Nigerians Students and Youth in Attendance to beware and not vote for the unlearned people in the forthcoming elections. She further condemned the “stomach infrastructure” policy.
At the lecture, several dignitaries were in attendance including the Chairman, Afenifere Renewal Group, Hon. Olawale Oshin, Rtd General Odunsi, Segun Odegbami among others.
