UCJ Holds Famous Five Awards

The Union of Campus Journalists held their annual Famous Five Awards last week, on Thursday, the 23rd of October, 2014 at The first Bank Building, faculty of Agric. Present at the programme were the Staff Adviser of UCJ, Prof Francis Egbokhare; The Chairman of the Occasion, the President of NUJ. The awardees were ably represented and, one of the awardees, the 24th dean of the faculty of Education was present in person. The other awardees were ably represented.

If you were not at the theatre Arts on Friday, then you missed….a lot. the show that was organized by Mcrain featured many comedians like McRain himself and Blood Pressure and Music Artistes as well.

Excursion Fees to close on November 7th

At the last departmental congress which was held on Wednesday, last week, it was decided by the Exco that payment for the excursion ends on the November 7, while the date of the excursion was set for November 14th. Nassorites are enjoined to pay a sum of #3,500 for excursion which would last for two days. The places to be visited are Ikogunsi and Erin-Ijesa.

Berekiah becomes bags a Doctorate

Congratulations to our dear lecturer, Dr. Berekiah, who is not just a lecturer but a father, a brother and a friend, on his award of Doctorate Degree. Nassors Press celebrates with him and wishes him even quicker promotions.

Awo Hall Light restored

It is no longer news that Obafemi Awolowo Hall was plunged into darkness for not less than six days. No light, of course, means no water. But eventually, the light was restored on Thursday. Nassors Press hopes, for the sake of Awoites, that this repair would be permanent.

Kudos to the Redemption team who have announced recently the reduction in transport fare on campus. The analysis is as follows:

Badmus contesting for house of rep

Yes, I know you are as surprised as I am. Didn’t see that one coming…..at least not so soon. But, of course, our beloved immediate past President of the Student Union, Babatunde Badmus, is contesting for the House of rep in lagos State and he is soliciting for the support of greatest Uites.

Sanitation in full force in Awo hall

on Saturday, 25th of October, which was the last Saturday of the month, Obafemi Awolowo hall observed the sanitation in style as students were prevented from leaving the hall until after the sanitation. The health minister made sure that all floor reps were on hand to monitor the cleaning of all the blocks and floors. as our pressmen gathered, many that wanted to go out for exams and tests that day were not sent back to their rooms to do their own part of the sanitation.

Awo won UCH 4-0 in friendly soccer game

The soccer team of Obafemi Awolowo hall are really not taking it “friendly” this time. At the last friendly match played by the team against the UCH soccer team, they showed no mercy as they continuosly spanked the poor Medical students until the bagged four goals. Cheers to the Awoites.
