The University of Ibadan Governing Council has confirmed the appointment of Prof Adebola Ekanola as the acting VC for six months.
UCJ-UI earlier reported that Prof Ekanola was nominated for the position by the university senate.
The Council’s meeting was deliberated upon by Nde Joshua Waklek, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council.
Prof Ekanola had previously served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Dean of the Faculty of Arts, among other appointments.
