The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan’s (UCJ UI) Creative Editor, Miss Sakeenah Kareem, emerged as the winner of the Phronesis Oratory Contest, which was held on Saturday, 1st of November, 2025.
The contest, which included Presidents of the Literary and Debating Societies and public speakers from four faculties, namely, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Law, was held at the University’s Alumni Centre.
While describing her experience, she mentioned that it was a “nice experience.”
She also mentioned that “… I felt good” while describing how she felt when she was announced as the winner of the contest.
While speaking further, she reiterated that the contest is “probably my last speaking engagement in UI.”
