The Battle

ogidigbo

The wind had sang pass and the excited feathers had left the fowl’s anus wide open

Has the battle been lost?

True, our brothers had deserted us at the middle of the war
They had sold us for mere fear
True, some sold our war for popularity that dies off  with time

Their deceitful mask is now off and treachery lies on their brows
Their sabotage has been stripped naked

Can we say we are still the best?
Can we say questions shouldn’t be answered?
Can we say our squatter friends in the animal republic have a life?
Can we say that those who we look up to are not dummy manufacturers?

Fear had hindered our growth
My comrades, fear is not a sin, but neither is it a virtue
Will we remain puppets to fear forever?

Look far to the Orient and see young-minded driven positive changes
But you, our brothers-cum-antagonist stand rooted like araba blocking our road to good life
Good men are called talkative parrots, punished and used as future examples

Some call us silent knights waiting to be hanged
But never  you, my brothers think that our silence has no voice
The struggle only continues in our resilient lines for a sweeter victory
