The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ibadan has resolved to send a delegation to negotiate with the school management regarding the controversial school fees increment.
This decision was reached at the SRC’s second ordinary sitting.The council has scheduled negotiations to take place between July 15-18, with a report-back session to the SRC set for July 19. This meeting will precede any final decisions on the fee increase issue.
The negotiating team will comprise a cross-section of student leaders, including:
- Current Executive Council members of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union
- Immediate past President, General Secretary, and House Secretary of the Students’ Union
- Speaker of the SRC
- Chairperson of the Council of Faculty Presidents
- Three Majority Leaders from the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Students Representative Council
