The protest, which officially began at 10:20 PM on August 29, resumed today at 5:00 AM, with the epicenter of the mobilization at Zik Hall.
The protest has been fueled by widespread student dissatisfaction with the Governing Council’s decision not to reverse the recent hike in school fees.
The students, through their union, have issued a set of demands, including the reversal of the fees and the shutdown of the school fees portal within 24 hours. The Union has also called for a total boycott of classes until these demands are met.
The protest, which gathered momentum overnight, saw hundreds of students rallying from Zik Hall, marching towards INdy and chanting solidarity songs.
The situation on campus remains tense, with students vowing to sustain the boycott of classes and other academic activities until there is a resolution in their favor.
