The Kenneth Mellanby Hall Management, headed by, Dr. J. O. Abiola, in a Special Release made on February 4, 2025 affirmed the disqualification of the Candidate for the position of Hall Chairman, Adenekan Adeife.
Recall that, Adenekan Adeife, was disqualified by the Mellanby Hall Independent Electoral Commission (MHIEC) on January 29, 2025. The disqualification was overturned the following day, January 30, 2024, by the Mellanby Hall Legislative Council while stating that the reasons for the disqualification were unconstitutional.
The matter escalated to an uproar in the Hall which prompted the Hall Management into taking swift actions.
In this special release, the hall management ordered the immediate resumption of electoral activities while still maintaining the disqualification status of Adenekan Adeife. The management added that every electoral activities must be concluded by Saturday, February 8, 2025 and that by-election would be announced in a later date for any vacant position.
