‘It Feels Special’ — New Students Speak On Matriculation

The University of Ibadan on Tuesday matriculated 3,983 students into various departments, and faculties, out of the applicants that selected the institution as the university of choice.

The ceremony, which was held at the International Conference Centre, was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Kayode Adebowale.

The matriculation lecture was delivered by Mr Micheal Mekuleyi, a first class graduate of Mechanical Engineering who is dedicated to empowering the next generation of tech enthusiasts.

Expressing his excitement, Awoyemi Fiyin, one of the newly matriculated students said he feels privileged getting matriculated into the University of Ibadan.

“I feel special because a lot of people applied to the university and only a few of us got in, out of like thousands, so, I thank God and hope to make the best use of the opportunity, ” he said

Also, Ifeoluowa, another newly matriculated student from the Department of Communication and Language Arts said the matriculation experience is fun and memorable.

“It was an interesting experience, the feeling of finally getting matriculated made me remember the one year I spent at home before I got admission and watching others matriculate,” she said.
