Miss Temilade Shittu-Alamu is the innovative founder of Cathrisino Concept. In an interview with Q.I.P, she talks about her life, education, passion …
QIP: Can we meet you?
P U: My name is Temilade Shittu-Alamu. I’m a 200 level student of Adult Education. I am the last born of four children. I work with Cathrisino Concept, I’m a public speaker and I love to eat plantain.
QIP: An insight on your educational background.
P U: I attended Madonna Nursery and Primary School Abuja and Command Day Secondary school. Presently, I’m an undergraduate student of the University of Ibadan.
QIP: Who is your role model?
P U: Condoleeza Rice; former U.S Secretary of States
QIP: Why?
P U: She is an ideal woman; an epitome of greatness.
QIP: Focused on what?
P U: My academics, business and God
QIP: What kind of business are you talking about?
P U: Like I said earlier, I work with Cathrisino Concept. Actually, I am the innovative founder of Cathrisino Concept. We do event management, decoration, MC, cake and confectioneries, etc.
P U: How do you combine this with studies?
QIP: Time management is what no one teaches you, especially on this campus. When I started my business in school, I took online time management courses. That was what helped me to joggle my school work and business.
QIP: Do you encourage entrepreneurship?
P U: Yes. It is expedient because it makes you a boss of your own. It is even a fall back or a plan B after school
QIP: Do you like to advertise Cathrisino Concept in Queen Idia Magazine?
P U: Sure, yes.
QIP: Recall your best moment in U I
P U: Positive comments received on delivery of my goods and services
QIP: How about your most embarrassing moment
P U: The day I fell down in front of Zik Cafeteria, amidst numerous Zikites. (Laughs) You know what that means?
QIP: Are you in a relationship?
P U: (Smiles) I’m single and focused
QIP: What is your opinion prior to relationships especially on campus?
P U: Know what works for you. If being in a relationship on campus works for you and you find the right guy, by all means go ahead. However, wisdom is profitable to direct.
QIP: Is there a cogent reason why you are not in a relationship?
P U: Because I have not found the right guy.
QIP: Your likes and dislikes?
P U: I like orderliness, I also like to put creativity in anything that I do. But I can’t stand dirty places.
QIP: What are your hobbies?
P U: Public speaking and cooking.
QIP: What are your dreams?
P U: In 10 years’ time, I see myself turning Africa around with creativity and witty inventions.
QIP: How do you plan to achieve this?
P U: I intend going into motivational speaking to ignite the fire of creativity in young minds. I will also become a world class event manager.
QIP: What do you think about contemporary fashion relative to Idiates
P U: Not everything that is trending is fashion. Dressing should be about what you wear and not about what you don’t wear. Idiates should remember that we are Queens and we should adorn ourselves as such.
QIP: Your philosophy of life.
P U: To thyself be true
QIP: Send your shout out
P U: My shout-out goes to my fellowship members, SCM (Students’ Christian Movement) and my roommates.
QIP: Words of advice to Idiates and Uites.
P U: Be diligent in whatever your hands find doing by setting your priorities aright.
QIP: Thanks for your time.
P U: Thank you.
