AWO HALL WAKES UP TO THE TERROR OF ROBBERY

Occupants of room C12, 13 and 14 of Obafemi Awolowo hall have been reported from reliable sources to have been visited by pike messengers in the early hours of Thursday 3 August, 2017.

UCJUI correspondent gathered that the horrible incident which happened at about 2am came through the fence demarcating Awo hall from Mount Zion. The robbers who were armed with cutlass destroyed some parts of the fence to gain entrance into the hall.

Eye witnesses confirmed their number to be four; one lady and three men. As at the time of this report, no student was harmed except one that was alleged to have been slapped with the side of a cutlass. The robbers were successful in their attempts at block C, room 12, 13 and 14 respectively until they met resistance in the preceding room. They escaped with phones, laptops and some amount of money before the ladies could gather security support.

It is noteworthy to mention that this is the third time such incident will occur this year. Although a member of the University security unit had spotted the robbers, she claimed she had no weapon to defend herself, talk more of the unfortunate occupants.

Also, the Dean of Students was reported to have visited the crime scene but UCJUI correspondent could not meet with him
