Adesina Adenike of UIMSA Press has emerged as the Best Inductee of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ’UI), after recording the highest score in the 38th set’s induction examination.
Adenike scored 87.92 per cent to emerge ahead of 141 other inductees who passed the examination. She received the award on Saturday, September 19, 2026, during the union’s 38th Induction Ceremony.
The Best Inductee Award is presented annually to the highest-performing member of a new UCJ set, with selection criteria determined each induction year.
For the 38th set, the award was based exclusively on performance in the induction examination, following an earlier decision at a UCJ Senate meeting.
Seven of the 142 inductees who passed the examination scored above 80 per cent and made the final shortlist for the award. Adenike recorded the highest score among the shortlisted candidates, earning the distinction.
She was presented with the award by the Editor-in-Chief of UCJ’UI, Mr Emmanuel Utibe, during the ceremony.
Utibe also singled out Efeoghene Oluwabori for special recognition, noting that she finished second and missed the top position by just 0.2 percentage points.
The Best Inductee award recognises outstanding performance among each set of UCJ inductees and marks one of the distinctions presented as part of the union’s annual induction programme.
