UHS Directs UI Enrollees to Alternative Hospitals Amid SSANU/NASU Strike

The University Health Service (UHS), University of Ibadan, has directed all registered enrollees to seek medical care at designated external hospitals following the ongoing strike by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU).

In a notice issued by UHS Management, UI enrollees were advised to access healthcare services at selected facilities within Ibadan while the strike continues to affect operations at the university’s health centre.

The designated hospitals include the Police Clinic, Eleyele; the Military Hospital, Odogbo Barracks, Ojoo; Jubilee Hospital, Sango near Expoyo; and Ayoola Modupe Memorial Hospital, Kogi, Adenuga Street.

The directive comes as the SSANU/NASU industrial action disrupts non-academic services across public universities, including essential units such as campus health services.

The duration of the arrangement remains subject to the resolution of the ongoing industrial action.
