The Students’ Union Electoral Commission, University of Ibadan has lifted the ban on electioneering processes for the 2024/25 Academic Session. This was announced through a circular to the SU’s updates groups on WhatsApp.
The circular read in part, “This is to notify the general public that the ban on all electioneering processes for the 2024/25 session has been lifted, effective from 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd of November, 2025.”
Moreover, the circular stated that “henceforth, all campaigns may commence.”
The circular further stated that the general public will be updated with details for the election process ” as soon as possible”
As at the time of publishing, the UCJ could not confirm if the UI’SRC was made aware of the constitution of a SUEC and also as regards the lift on the electioneering ban.
