The University of Ibadan Student Representative Council (UI’SRC) has adjourned its sitting scheduled for today, October 11, 2025, due to a failure to meet the required quorum, as per Order 12 of the SRC Standing Order.

The meeting was scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., but two hours later, only 44 people were in attendance. This was 11 persons shy of the required number of people for a quorum, which is supposed to be 55 persons.

At 12:10pm, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Quadri Shoge, announced that the sitting would not hold as the required quorum had not been met. He cited Order 12 of the Standing Order of the Student Representative Council, which states that the sitting should be adjourned if, after 2 hours, the number of names in attendance are not up to that required to form a quorum.

Hon. Afeez from Indy, while speaking to the press afterwards, said, “It is not like the reps are irresponsible and did not want to come. It is because of the current issue in school about the light “.
