The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) Authority, has disbursed Two hundred and one million, one hundred and fourteen thousand, six hundred and fifty naira (₦201, 114, 650) to UI Management, UCJUI has learnt.
This amount is to cover the fees of one thousand, three hundred and seventy students (1370) students of the institution that previously applied for the students Loan.
Recall that the SU President had initially mentioned that about 1500 students are the beneficiaries. However, in a memorandum circulated on Monday signed by the Registrar, Mr. Saliu Ganiu to the Dean of Students, Prof. Keye Abiona, the school clarified that 1370, not 1500 students are the funds received going to cater for.
The memo further revealed that the Bursary Department of the University is “currently processing the fund to enable concerned students print out smart receipts.
The school also clarified that there would be refunds to students who already paid the levies for the session.
“Any student who is a beneficiary of the NELFUND loan and has already paid levies for the session fee is entitled to a refund,”
“To apply for a refund, the student must write through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, providing their account details for the refund. A photocopy of the original payment receipt must be attached to each application” it read.
