Ahead of this year’s Jawwar, executives of The Literary and Debating Society of the University of Ibadan on Thursday met the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Ekanola, to finalize plans for the competition scheduled to start later next month.
Speaking during the meeting, the VC expressed the readiness of the management to provide support for the various plans of the association for this year’s edition of the competition.
The VC also noted that despite the current state of the economy, the management would provide prizes for various categories of winners.
Recall that at a press conference held last month, the TLDS announced various plans to make the competition bigger and better.
The meeting, which took place at the VC’s office, had in attendance the Sub Dean of the Students’ Affairs unit, Dr. Demola Lewis; TLDS President, Ayeni Otito Jesu.
Others are: TLDS Vice President, Omotayo Paul; Secretary, Olayide Bolaji; PRO, Neyen Williams.
