
The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan has released a call for entries for the sixth edition of the ‘Fisayo Soyombo Inter-Varsity Essay Competition.
The competition, now is in its 6th year, seeks solution-focused essays on issues of national importance, is open to all undergraduate students in any Nigerian university.
A statement by the organization, signed by its President, Oluwatobi Odeyinka, indicated that the topic for this year’s edition is: Blessed Yet Impoverished: How Can Nigeria Solve Its Generational Corruption Issues?

ENTRY FORMAT
Entry should contain the essay and a copy of the participant’s school ID in separate PDF files in an email to: ucjunibadan@gmail.com. Email Subject: “FISAYO SOYOMBO ESSAY CONTEST”.
PRIZES
First Place: N250,000
Second Place: N150,000
Third Place: N100,000
“This is your chance to voice your thoughts and ideas on an issue of national interest. Your essay can be a catalyst for change, inspiring new approaches to fighting corruption in Nigeria,” the statement added.
UCJUI recalls that past winners of the competition include: Omoya Yinka Simult, Kunle Adebajo, Kannyinsola Olorunnishola, Habeeb Asudemmade and, Timileyin Precious.
