The University of Ibadan (UI) management has released the official academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The new approved calendar was circulated on Sunday, 26th January, across various faculties and departments through the official WhatsApp platforms of student associations at different levels.
According to the calendar, academic activities for the session officially commenced on January 19th and are scheduled to run until December 30th. In line with the long-standing tradition at the University of Ibadan, a two-week break has been fixed between the first and second semesters. Physical resumption for the first semester is supposed to begin on March 2nd for new students and March 5th for returning students while the first semester is expected to end on the 26th of June, and the second semester will begin on July 13th.

Following the release and widespread circulation of the calendar, students have expressed mixed reactions. While some anticipate a swift academic session, others have voiced hopes that the calendar will run uninterrupted, unlike experiences from the past two sessions and similar disruptions recorded at other times.
