BY: MARTINS ISAAC

The Mellanby-Tedder road has finally, started to go through effective repair and reconstruction beginning from mid-last week.

It is worthy of note that not only the road is being repaired but also the drainage passage from Kenneth Mellanby to Lord Tedder hall.

It is pertinent to recollect that several publications from campus journalists across the University have lamented the unhealthy state of roads and have called for positive reactions and steps to be taken. Another common road, notoriously needing medical attention is the Jaja-Kuti avenue road and drainage.

In reaction, a number of Uites have express their view of the ongoing repair. Many have expressed that it is for the UI@70 programmes which are already taking shape in the Citadel. Whether or not that is the case, it remains however, a welcome development.

It is safe to say there is relief at last with regards to the condition of roads in the premier university, University of Ibadan with hopes high that this repair will not be limited to roads alone but other areas needing urgent attention.
