UI management refutes news of physical resumption

Sequel to news making rounds on social media concerning physical resumption of the remaining part of the 2020/2021 academic session, the University of Ibadan has made a rebuttal against claims of the proposed date for physical resumption.

The Special Release, made available to UCJUI by the Directorate of Public Communications, was addressed to staff, students, parents and guardians as well as the general public to inform them that the management is yet to fix any date for physical resumption of academic activities for the rest of 2020/2021 academic session.

It provides that at the Senate meeting held on Monday, May 17, “Senate discussed all matters relating to physical resumption of academic activities for the rest of the 2020/2021 academic session, and decided to set up an Ad-hoc Committee to propose a date and implementation plan.”

“The Committee is expected to submit its report on Monday, 24 May, 2021 for the consideration of Management”

As a result of this, the management dissociates itself from publications that have gone viral on social media platforms concerning physical resumption.
