UI Alumni Associate Group Holds Maiden Dinner/Award Night In Grand Style

After 3 years of its establishment, UI alumni associate group popularly called “WOUWO” held its maiden dinner/award night event themed “Glow in The Dark.” The event, which was held to honour old UI students took place yesterday, December 12 at Bon Nest Hotel, Bodija, Ibadan.

While giving the welcome address, the convener of the group, Mr. Tobiloba Ogunbanjo, explained that WOUWO was established in February 2017, as a virtual gathering of UI alumni from all walks of life with the aim of keeping the network of alumni together to build a continued mechanical solidarity.”

He unveiled two projects titled WOUWO Academic Support and WOUWO Give Back Project which he said was “500,000 wouwo scholarship fund for 20 indigent UI students against resumption of next session and remodeling the entry point into UI from the Polytechnic of Ibadan” 

The event had in attendance Deputy Dean of Student, Dr. Demola Lewis, representing the Vice Chancellor; Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa, Special Adviser to Oyo State government on Youths and Sports; UCJ pioneer president and his wife, Dr. And Dr. Mrs. Ajala; UIAA PRO, Mr. Tobi Austin; Mr. Fisayo Soyombo, award-winning Investigative Journalist; Timi Olagunju, Tech Lawyer and policy influencer amongst others.

Most Outstanding University of Ibadan Alumnus in Comedy

Most Outstanding UI Alumnus in Investigative Journalism
