TO THE REPOSITIONING TEAM

The repositioning team has forced me to put me nibble on my paper to pour out my grievances, my advice and also my accolades for the executive of independence hall.

Since the repositioning led administration has taken over the affairs of the hall, a lot has happened, a lot will still happen. Without mincing words, the repositioning team has warrant our accolades for their good job, the warrant being blamed, and even scolded. But since we are all humans, we are bound to mistakes until we are made perfect which I did not see in years coming. We are not perfect. Since we are not perfect, we need to be corrected when we are taking some actions. This piece is to call the driver of our Great Independence hall to order on some actions and also to advise them more. This article is not meant for the executives alone, but everyone who is in the team directly or indirectly

If I will be allowed to judge, I would like to commend the repositioning team on how they have started their administration in the hall so far. The freshers welcome was for me a cool one compared to the one I had in my own days. Though that was not the best they could have. I will still like to see in some peoples view that posits that since you are repositioning, they expected something exclusive rather than the snacks and drink as refreshment. Which means really to some people the event was a flop. However, it is obvious that last year’s own was more than a flop.  Not only the freshers welcome had made me dash you my accolade but the way the team has been handling the hall affairs. I would like to commend the Administrator General, the sport

Minister, the social and buttery commissioner and others that really think they have tried in their own capacity to get my accolade.

Now that all accolades have been showered on the executives, I would not want to turn my deaf ears and blind eyes to what Katangites have been yearning for. Katangites really want a transparent leadership. Leadership that will be transparent in their dealings. I could recall very well in one of the sitting our Honourables had, while planning to choose members of the audit committee. I could see an honourable raising his hands as a volunteer to be in the audit committee, but alas he was ignored by the deputy speaker. Then thousands of questions flow through my head. After my investigations, I noticed that this honourable is always going against any ills the house is bringing up. Then I ask myself that is there any criteria for the House choosing the members in the committee? But to my surprise there is no criteria.  Our age has gone far above taking friendship into the law making of the hall. If this kind of sentimentalism and favouritism continues in the legislative arm of the House the repositioning team might not have a good landing.

Something that is very obvious in our Great Independence hall is the act of rotating power among some set of people in the same ‘Cabal’. This I tag as ‘God fatherism’ which will drive us nowhere except to the junction of stagnancy thereby failing in repositioning what you promised us to reposition. To the repositioning team, I urge you all to desist from any power that may be. Katangites gave you their mandate, respect their mandate by listening to them rather than listening to the ‘cabal guys’

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a bold step and should end with a bold step. Really you have taken some steps in the journey of your thousands mile, I urge you to be focused, dedicated and resilient in repositioning the only living hall. I agree that that it is not easy to make change, nevertheless, change is inevitable, it comes with time. Let the change come during your tenure. But before I hang my pen, I would like to say above all your dealings, put God and Katangites first because they both can make and mar your tenure. Do not sacrifice the interest of katangites for some ‘Bigmen’ of the hall. Communicate with those that trusted you with their powers more often. Do not allow for a communication gap.Work with the hall management because we will blame you for what they have cause at times. Remember the road to success is always on construction, you have to be rugged and strong to pass the construction of the road.

The Long walk to repositioning you have put us through is not an ordinary one. If we get to the destination successfully without any harm, posterity will judge and if otherwise posterity and Katatngites will judge. You are meant to serve Katangite not lead katangites. Make yourself the Chief servant and not the leader then we can give birth to a repositioned Independence Hall you promised.

Good luck in your future endeavours in making our Hall a better place to live in.
