The Students’ Representative Council, University of Ibadan, has suspended five of its members over frequent absence from sittings.
The suspension was announced at the council’s sitting on October 27.
The Speaker, Omitoyin Oluwaferanmi announced that the suspended members have forfeited their seats in the 8th assembly after being absent for three consecutive sittings without notice, as the Constitution dictates in Article XXII (i).
The suspended members are:
- Aderibigbe-Simeon Light from Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Constituency
- Salami Mahmud from Mellanby Hall Constituency
- Abdulsalam Lateefat from Queen Idia Hall Constituency
- Jesubiyi Damilare from Independence Hall Constituency
- Adeyemi Adedolapo from Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Constituency
