INEC to Begin PVC Distribution in Oyo on October 9

By Joshua Didymus

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across its 33 Local Government Area offices in Oyo State from Friday, October 9, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, excluding weekends and public holidays, according to a statement by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Oyo State, Dr Adeniran Rahmon Tella.

The announcement follows INEC’s nationwide schedule for the collection of newly printed PVCs, which was announced to begin on October 9.

According to Tella, the Oyo State exercise is for newly registered voters, voters who recently transferred their polling units, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

He stressed that PVC collection would be strictly personal and would not be done by proxy.

Tella also urged eligible voters and other stakeholders to cooperate with the Commission by ensuring the prompt collection of the newly printed PVCs.

He said arrangements had been made in collaboration with security agencies to ensure that the exercise is conducted in a transparent, orderly and peaceful manner.

With the collection of PVCs coming up, voters are now in full gear for the last lap of actions in preparation for the general elections, which will be coming up on Saturday, 16th January 2027.
