The Junior Chamber International, University of Ibadan, has announced the final three shortlists for the award of the Fifteen Outstanding Persons’ Award (FOPA) for this year.
The nominees were announced on Friday in a conference of pressmen held at Mellanby Hall TV Room.
The President of the organization, Ayodele Oluwatobi, while addressing pressmen explained that among others, year of study, student disciplinary record, public acceptance, were the criteria used in drawing the shortlists.
The 35th President of JCI UI told pressmen that though voting probably would start on Saturday, “most votes won’t translate to winning the award. It is just to measure public acceptance.”
He equally added that, while some categories would access the nominees’ entire record in the school some others would be assessed based on nominees’ record for the past one year.
For the former, category like Academics would be based on nominees entire academic record. While for the latter, categories like entrepreneur, journalism, would be measured based on the nominees’ record in the outgoing year.
While responding to questions from pressmen, Mr Ayodele established that, though it is possible for a nominee to win more than an award. However, “the chance is slim.”
Voting would probably start on Saturday, he added, while also saying it would end on Wednesday.
The award ceremony holds on Friday, November 9 at the Wole Soyinka Lecture Theatre.
