EXCLUSIVE: “We hope to get an office space at the Union building if Sanjay, Olabisi emerges” – NAOSS UI President, Akinte

The President of the National Association of Ondo State Students UI has claimed that NAOSS UI hopes to get an office at the Union building if Oluwole Ayomide (Sanjay) and Olabisi Owadayo emerge victorious in the upcoming SU elections, UCJ can report.

According to an inside source, the final year Political Science student made this claim via their official WhatsApp group. “In our last meeting NAOSS demand(ed) for an office space whether paid or unpaid at the Union building for the association. We hope that if our brother (Sanjay) and sister (Olabisi) are there, our request will be granted,” he wrote.

Reacting to Nnamdi Azikwe Hall’s endorsement of Oluwole Ayomide over Ori Benson, Akinte wrote: “There is nothing we could have done when two of our own were to be on the ballot. Politically, it would have been wrong for both to run, being from the same hall (Zik) and same faculty (Law), same indigenous association (NAOSS) and we sincerely appreciate the courage and leadership demonstration of Ayodele Isaiah at this period,” he added.

Commenting on his claims, Akinte told this reporter that NAOSSUI hopes to get leased space just as Sigma UI , TLDS UI , UCJ UI, NANS and other reputable organizations in the University of Ibadan.

“I made this statement when I was canvassing for the support [of] our members for them (Sanjay and Olabisi) that for example now: Sanjay and Olabisi they’re from Ondo State and if they become students’ union representatives, for example, it will be very very marketable for NAOSS UI,” he added.

Oluwole Ayomide popularly known as Sanjay is a penultimate year law student vying for the position of the president in the next Students’ Union Executive Council, while fellow Ondo State indigene, Olabisi Owadayo who is also a penultimate year law student is in the race for Vice President in the upcoming February 22, 2025 elections.
