BREAKING: ABH Students Shut Down Cafeteria Over Food Safety Concerns

The cafeteria in Alexander Brown Hall, University College Hospital (UCH) has been shut down following a student-led physical demonstration held earlier in the day over persistent complaints of poor hygiene and service delivery.

Clinical students residing in the hall protested, specifically calling out the vendors: Fanawole, Prestige, and Spicy Bites, citing repeated cases of food contamination. These include the presence of cockroaches, unidentifiable insects, and iron particles, alongside concerns about bad taste and poor customer service.

A notice displayed at the hostel entrance declared the cafeteria closed “till further notice,” reflecting growing dissatisfaction among students.

The development comes after multiple complaints by students, culminating in a collective decision to effectively force its closure.
